Privacy in Paper Paths

Privacy policy

Effective October 15, 2026

This policy explains how Paulo Menezes handles information in Paper Paths and when you contact support. Features vary by platform and version. Earlier releases without ads or purchases do not use those services.

Your notebook

Progress, drawings, preferences, achievements, and unlocked visual hints are stored on your device. We do not upload your notebook to a developer server. No game account is required. Device backups, where available, are controlled by your operating system.

Advertising

Versions with advertising use Google AdMob. Ads appear occasionally after completing levels; videos for visual hints are optional. Google Mobile Ads and its consent SDK may process IP addresses and approximate location, device identifiers, advertising data, product interactions, crash data, performance data and other diagnostics. These are used for third-party advertising, measurement and analytics, fraud prevention, and consent-related app functionality. Approximate location, device identifiers and interaction data may be associated with a device; the SDK declares crash, performance and other diagnostic data separately as not linked to your identity. Its traffic is encrypted in transit. We request non-personalized ads and disable publisher first-party IDs. On iOS, we do not request App Tracking Transparency permission or use an advertising identifier for cross-app tracking.

On Android, we ask for an age group before loading ads. Only the age band is stored locally, without a birth date or upload to us. Users under 18 receive child-directed and under-age-of-consent treatment, with general-audience ad content. We use the Google Mobile Ads SDK listed in the Google Play Families program. We do not load ads while the age group is unknown.

Where required, Google's User Messaging Platform presents privacy choices before ads are requested. You can reopen applicable choices in Settings → Ads & purchases → Ad privacy options. Google handles its own data under Google's privacy policy. See its iOS SDK data disclosure and Android SDK data disclosure for details. Non-personalized ads still involve technical data processing.

Purchases

The optional permanent purchase removes automatic ads between levels. Reward videos remain optional and are still required to unlock a new visual hint. Purchases and refunds are handled by Google Play or Apple's App Store. We receive purchase status and transaction identifiers to verify and restore the entitlement, but do not receive your card details. A verified entitlement is cached locally for offline use. Purchases and unlocked hints are kept separately from notebook progress resets.

Achievements

Achievements are stored locally. On supported iOS versions, Game Center can synchronize achievement progress with Apple when you sign in. Apple controls your Game Center identity and account information under its privacy policy. The Android release does not require a Play Games account.

Permissions

The game does not request camera, microphone, contacts, or precise location access. Music is bundled and works offline. Ads, purchases, and optional online platform features require an internet connection. External links open websites whose own policies apply.

Children

Parents can help children choose the correct age band, manage purchase authorization through the store, and contact us with privacy questions. We do not ask children for their name, email, birth date, or contact details in the game. If a child sends personal information to support, a parent or guardian can request deletion.

Support and this website

If you email paulo.hgmenezes@gmail.com, we receive your address and what you send, through Gmail, to answer and troubleshoot. We do not use support messages for ads or sell them. We retain correspondence only as reasonably needed for the request and applicable obligations.

This website is hosted on ChatGPT Sites. We have added no advertising or analytics scripts, forms, or tracking cookies. The host may process technical requests to deliver and secure the site; see OpenAI's privacy policy.

Your choices and contact

You can reset notebook progress in Settings, change the age group in Ads & purchases on Android, manage ad identifiers in your device settings, or uninstall the app to remove its local data. To request access, correction, or deletion of information sent to support, contact Paulo Menezes at paulo.hgmenezes@gmail.com. Store and advertising-provider information is managed through those providers. We update this policy and its effective date when practices change.
